We walk you through a multi-step process on the road to franchise ownership. This process is guided by our experienced professional franchise development team. Our goal is to ensure that you understand the risks, opportunities, challenges, and rewards presented by franchise ownership within our brand. While providing you with this information, we’ll also be looking to see if you are a good fit for our retail clothing franchise. The success of our brand depends on our individual franchise owners. Steps involved in the franchise discovery process:

  1. First Phone Call – After you express interest, we’ll have an initial phone call to get to know you and to let you get to know us as well as answer any initial questions you may have.
  2. Webinar Presentation – In the webinar, you'll gain a detailed overview of the Franchise Support Model and we will share store performance data from the previous year.
  3. Talk to Franchisees – Who better to talk to than people who are already running a Kid to Kid franchise? You'll be provided a list of franchisees to call from all over the country to gain their experience and perspective. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the day to day specifics of running a store.
  4. Follow Up – We’ll follow the validation process with weekly, scheduled telephone calls. During these calls, we’ll answer any additional questions you have.
  5. Financial Document Disclosure – After the follow-up process, we’ll provide you with all the financial and formal information you need. This includes our franchise disclosure document (FDD), a document required by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that contains information about legal requirements, costs, statistics, and so on.
  6. Opportunity Day – The last step in the discovery process, we invite you to visit our corporate headquarters to meet our support team and other staff members.

Store Opening Process

  • STEP 1: Site Selection

  • STEP 2: Business Planning
    The Kid to Kid team assists you in preparing a business plan so that solid groundwork is laid to help your business thrive in the future. This includes ensuring you get the financing your store needs, the training your staff wants, and the store design you’ve dreamed of.
  • STEP 3: Financing
    While we don’t directly finance your store, we help you create a plan to obtain SBA guaranteed financing or another financing options. With our great connections and partnerships with major banks, we make sure you are well-equipped to get the financing you need.
  • STEP 4: Store Design & Construction
    We help you with the design and construction process to ensure your store builds on the Kid to Kid name and reputation. Our store design specialist will create a customized store and fixture plan to fit your space and assist you in ordering approved materials for your contractors during the build out process.
  • STEP 5: Training
    We know how challenging it can be to jump into a new business, which is why we set you up to succeed with our extensive training program and ongoing support. This includes a two-part training program in Salt Lake City and a five-day internship in a Kid to Kid store, as well as yearly conferences and site calls.
  • STEP 6: Filling Your Store with Inventory
    You will begin to build up a well-curated inventory ten to twelve weeks before your Grand Opening in an “Open to Buy” period. Using our proprietary technology to properly evaluate and price inventory items, you will begin to market to new customers and build a following as you obtain stock.
  • STEP 7: Grand Opening
    Once your store is filled with quality inventory, all the preparations have been put in place, and you have the resources to begin the marketing process, you will select a Grand Opening date. You will have on-site assistance from your Support and Training Team for the big event!
