WATAUGA, TX.—Local business owners Darrin and Sandy Song will hold the Grand Opening to their store, Uptown Cheapskate, on Friday, May 30th. This trendy teen and young adult fashion reseller, located at 8436 Denton Highway, Suite 206 in Watauga, pays shoppers cash for their clothes, shoes and other apparel items and resells them at highly discounted prices.
For several weeks, the store has been open to the public to purchase customers’ gently used fashions, filling the racks in preparation for the Grand Opening. Customers will then be able to come in and shop brand name and designer clothing and accessories at up to 70 percent less than retail.
Uptown Cheapskate focuses on buying current styles of apparel, shoes and accessories that appeal to a wide range of teens and young adults. After the Grand Opening, Uptown Cheapskate will continue to pay customers cash on the spot or 25 percent more in store credit for their gently used items.
In addition to carrying hundreds of recycled items, the new Uptown Cheapskate store also offers many new products including jewelry and assorted apparel items.
Originally from Orange County, California, both Darrin and Sandy have extensive business experience. Since 2008, Darrin has successfully invested in residential real estate in addition to being a business owner throughout his life. Sandy comes from a strong background in accounting and customer relations with previous experience in bookkeeping and human resources. With their combined experiences, they are optimistic in taking on a business venture as a team while maintaining a strong family.
“While we were looking into retail businesses, we came across Uptown Cheapskate and instantly loved the idea of creating relationships with those in our community,” said Darrin. “There is no better feeling than when you can provide great service and great products to appreciating customers. The fact that Uptown Cheapskate has almost no carbon footprint and helps recycle great items is just another positive to this equation.”
